Thank you. That is the tree in the front yard. Soon the gardenias will be in bloom and that is my favorite time of the year. My whole house front and back have gardenia bushes. My favorite flower. I cut fresh ones daily when they are in bloom and the house inside and out smells divine.
I feel the same way Stephen. What once felt like unlimited springtimes now feels like I should enjoy every one of them I have left. Even the pollen leaves its mark😊
My sweet Monica this is absolutely beautiful, I like how this pulls back the surface-level prettiness of spring and shows the structure underneath. It reads almost like nature thinking out loud.
Monica-love your garden. Spring is such a beautiful time and your poem captures the root of what Spring really is. There is a cycle and world that supports it. And I am grateful for it especially after trying to leave winter in the past in the PNW.
I enjoyed this poem. I can see why you appreciate Spring so much :) I think about even greenery as a fiction...I see walls and lights from my window! It's tougher on the senses than one might think. But I did walk toward trees and rebirth on another street today, and your poem captured the natural system I smelled and sensed. Thanks for sharing this!
That was exquisite Monica. I love seasonal poetry as it lends itself to such beautiful imagery and truths. But your reflection was a continuation of the renewal through words.
I really feel like I’m in a rebirth season and it’s easy to want to move into the next season quickly but, right now, I am enjoying the discovery of the new me, so will take it slow and steady just like a budding blossom. 🌸
This is remarkably beautiful, Monica. Something I just *need* to point is how you also used the poem's structure to embody the order and precision of nature.
There is so much in the world that teaches us about ourselves. My takeaway is that, like Nature, there is so much complexity in us still at work that makes us fascinating and valuable no matter the season we find our lives in.
Your garden is gorgeous.

OMG, the scent of fresh gardenia is divine indeed.
Yes… I am eagerly waiting for the buds to open
Really beautiful! 🤩
Thank you Andrea
I feel like the significance of Spring, as well as its influence on me, gets stronger each year as I age.
I feel the same way Stephen. What once felt like unlimited springtimes now feels like I should enjoy every one of them I have left. Even the pollen leaves its mark😊
Exactly
Monica,
Spring, As System is exceptional. As I read it, I enjoyed every word. I look forward to reading much more of your poetry.
Thank you Kelly
You’re welcome, Monica. Your poem deserves recognition, as you do as a poet.

Aaliya, thank you for always saying the absolute kindest things about my work. I am so glad you enjoyed this.
Beautiful piece! Is that a cherry tree?
Umbrella tree. We trim it otherwise it covers the walkway up the front door
It looks lovely! <3
Thank you
You’re most welcome <3

Thank you Tim
The ending took a turn I wasn’t expecting 😀. And that’s a lovely view you have
Thank you. I do love my yard
Very nice. A wonderfully emotive description of Spring’s rebirth.
Thank you Tim.

I think that’s a brilliant idea
Unique way to look at the structure of nature’s cycles. The pollen part gave me a good laugh as someone who gets allergy shots.
My allergies are killing me.

Brooklyn your comment makes me smile. I am so glad you found meaning in my words. Thank you for reading.
